During this holiday season, the True Care Family is thankful for many things. We are grateful for our clients, our caregivers, and all of our hardworking office staff. Most of all, we are thankful for your trust as we work together in this challenging time. 

Holiday celebrations will undoubtedly look different this year as indoor and outdoor gatherings and travel options are severely limited. Let’s commit to staying in touch with our family members, friends, and neighbors safely so we can all feel connected during the holiday season. Phone calls, voice and video messages, snail-mail letters and cards, and gifts ordered by mail are all great ideas. No gesture is too small; let’s be creative so everyone can feel included in the holiday celebrations.

COVID-19 Update 10/23/20

New York State remains among the lowest COVID-19 positivity rates in the nation. See all 50 states’ positivity rates on a 7-day rolling average here.  

Travel Advisory Update

Unfortunately, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania have positivity rates above the percentage that requires a 14-day quarantine. The New York State Department of Health understands that quarantine may not be practical when returning from these states due to our interconnectedness, but travel to these states is strongly discouraged. All states included in New York State’s COVID-19 travel advisory require a 14 day quarantine period. The list changes frequently and is accessible here

Getting the Flu Shot is More Important Than Ever!

This year, getting vaccinated against the flu is more important than ever. Annual flu shots protect us against the three or four influenza virus strains that have been determined to be the most common during the upcoming flu season. The influenza (flu) shot is a vaccine given with a needle, usually in the arm, and is the best way to protect yourself and others from contracting the flu each year.

New York is enjoying a significant decrease in COVID-19 infections and hospitalizations. True Care encourages everyone to continue to carefully follow all infection control precautions and social distancing. COVID-19 Update: 7/22/20

With all regions in the state now in either Phase 2, 3, or 4 of the reopening plan we are happy to return to some of the activities that we have missed over the last four months.  However, it is still important that we remain vigilant in our COVID-19 prevention practices so New York State can continue to enjoy a decrease in infections and hospitalizations.
