What is involved in becoming a certified home health aide? 

A home health aide is an individual who has been certified with training and a competency evaluation. The home health aide training program must be authorized by the New York State Department of Health or the New York State Department of Education. This training includes classroom training and supervised practical training, some of which must be provided in a patient care setting.

Talking about, and suggesting Hospice can cause feelings of fear and sadness. This can be a very challenging time for the individual who is sick and their loved ones. Talking about hospice care can make people feel that there is no longer hope for recovery.

New York has one of the lowest COVID-19 positivity rates in the United States. The 7-day rolling average of COVID-19 positivity by state can be found here

Eligible New Yorkers for the COVID-19 vaccine include those that are 16 years old or older, reside in New York, or work or study in New York. Vaccines are available at a variety of locations including pharmacies, hospitals, local health departments and Federally Qualified Health Centers statewide.

True Care encourages all of our dedicated health care workers to receive the COVID-19 vaccine as per New York City, New York State, and Federal recommendations. Please protect yourselves and your patients. 

We want to make you aware that New York State and New York City are preparing to offer the vaccine to our #HeroesInOurHomes, including Home Health Aides, CDPAP Personal Assistants, and nurses who are identified as “High-risk health care workers who provide direct in-person care…” Information is frequently being updated on the NYC COVID-19 vaccine location webpage.
